The second 'running' of this race for me. This year Simon and Laz were scared off by their debuts the previous year, but I was joined by Matt Mottram, a friend of Tony's, as well as Sars and Dan who entered the team competition. Sars planned to enter as an individual but unfortunately damaged her knee in training for the race, and Dan kindly offered to step in and do the running legs with Sars competing on the bike. I improved my time on 2004 by 1 min and 10 seconds, but with a enlarged field meant I placed 65 out of 125 individual entries. Matt placed 58th, 2 minutes ahead of me and Sars and Dan finished just ahead of me in 36th out of the teams.
