Sars and I joined Tony and Mark Louw on an Easter weekend adventure to the Lake District in 2003. A thoroughly enjoyable weekend, our first trip after arriving in the UK, included climbing Scaffel Pike, the highest peak in England.

First BTP May Spring ball dinner dance held at the Passford hotel near Brockenhurst in the New Forest. Visited Lymington and Hurst Castle whilst we were there.

World renowned Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany. We visited on the final weekend of the festival

Our first skiing trip, superbly organised by the fatman, to Verbier in Switzerland. Chris organised an 'all in' chalet deal for 12 of us.

Sars and I visited Paris in March 2004. We travlled ont the Friday night Eurostar and stayed for two nights near the Bastille on the eastern side of Paris. We took in most of the famous tourist attractions including the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triumphe, Sacre Cour and Notre Dame. We got caught in a major rain storm whilst strolling the Champs Ellysees and drank plenty in the Latin Quarter. We both realy enjoyed the city and a return is inevitable.

Sars and I spent the long Easter weekend of 2004 in Betws-y-coed, North Wales. We biked the Gwyder Forest MTB trail as well as the Coed-y-brenin park, as well as climbed Snowdonia, the highest peak in Wales. We visited Bodnant Gardens and Conway aswell as other north coast villages.

Sars and I went straight from the BT-P spring ball in the New Forest to Heathrow and a flight to meet my folks in New York. My dad had been at a conference in Vancouver, Canada, and had taken my mom along and to see New York on the way home. We spent several fantastic days exploring the city, and the fact that my dad had been before made it all the easier. After my folks returned to South Africa, Sars and I climbed on a Greyhound for destination Rhode Island to stay with Justine Jacobson (nee Moffatt) and her husband Cory. I was unable to attend the wedding, so it was great to be able to stay with them and catch up. Jutine and Cory took us up to Boston on Saturday for the day, and showed us the city, both had lived there before. The Boston Red Socks were playing at the time and we caught a couple of games, only on the box unfortunately, as Fenway was packed to the rafters.

Toby the Willow and Toby the Cheese (nee President) spent 3 weeks in Europe during September 2004. Their trip started by staying with us in London for a wekend. We met up with mates at Onanon in Piccadilly Circus.

First stop on our Italian adventure was Florence. Sars and I met TtW and TtC in Florence as they arrived by overnight train from Eurodisney. We spent 3 days in Florence checking out the major sights and setting a seering pace in the Karafe drinking stakes.....

TtW, TtC, TtT and I visited the famous leaning tower of Pisa by train enroute from Florence to Rome.

Sars and I left TtW and TtC at the end of our Rome stay as they ventured back north to Venice. Sars and I decided to head west and take a ferry from Ancona to Croatia and Slovenia....

Sars and I journeyed back to SA in October primarily for Chris and Phil's wedding. During our stay I played plenty golf, spent a weekend in the Drakensburg - playing golf - and threw in a braai at my uncles place in Pretoria which included the largest cut of cow I have ever seen.

Springboks vs Wales at the Millenium Stadium, Cardiff. SA won 38-36 after a late charge from Wales. We drove across and stayed over in the suburbs.

Woody visited the UK in November to take in 2 of the Springboks winter tests. We visited Stone Henge and Sarum on a day away from the rugby.

Sars and I survived Hogmanay aka 'Snogmanay' in Edinburgh for New Years 2004/2005. The green monster travlled up with Kam and Cam, and Nick Barton joined us belately. What a party!

Sars and I were lucky enough to travel across to Hong Kong for the annual rugby sevens tournament in March 2005. My dad had a conference in Hong Kong so Sars and I met up with my folks and had a most awesome 2 week trip. Whilst we were halfway around the world we took the oppurtunity to travel onto Beijing for 5 days as well. I have uploaded a mixture of photo's from Hong Kong and Beijing here. Hopefully there should be more on the way from my dad.

The annual BTP Spring Ball changed venues this year, from the stunning New Forest to cheesy Seaside. Eastbourne hosted us this year, with the highlight probably adventuring around Friston Forest on the mtb bikes.
